Eindhoven: heart of the Brainport region
Brainport is the region of South-East Netherlands, centered around Eindhoven and is an important pillar of the Dutch economy together with Seaport (Rotterdam) and Airport (Schiphol). Brainport accounts for 50% of Dutch business R&D expenditure and has the highest patent density (per inhabitant) in Europe, i.e. 384.000 jobs. The location is quite attractive as it has many green spaces, plenty of attractive countryside, well equipped city centers and living areas. On top of that, Brainport has also internationally renowned sports facilities! Being only 100 kilometers away from high-tech regions of Leuven and Aachen, it forms the ELAt triangle (www.elat.org) which represents €4B on R&D investment.
